He’s not always busy cooking and learning about food! David works as a Spanish Bilingual Coordinator for Chicago Public Schools and a Landscaping Consultant. In his consults, David specializes in plantings that increase biodiversity. David studies botany, foreign languages, Tai Chi and Qi Gong. He also enjoys singing and writing original songs on guitar and piano. As Community Cooking Organizer, his goal is to teach people that eating delicious homegrown food doesn’t have to be complicated! It’s also one of the best ways to connect us to our environment and community.

Elena is committed to getting DuPage County ‘seed literate’! Saving seeds is an important way to make your gardening more sustainable, and more successful! Elena uses her education in anthropology, interest in organizing and community building to coordinate the Sustain DuPage seed efforts.

Jessica helps Sustain DuPage by facilitating our Leadership Committee meetings and serving on our Subcommittees. Her vision and help are invaluable for our organization’s health.

Lindsay comes to Sustain DuPage with a BFA in Art and Animation and more than 15 years of experience in advertising and broadcast media. Her support for Sustain DuPage has made the organization what we are today.

Betty Amore (She/Her)

As part of Seed Cache, Betty leads the One Seed One Community effort and helps organize events such as our annual Seed Savin’ Social. As a new board member in 2024, Betty will focus on community outreach and engagement.
Lisa Sandoval (She/Her)

As part of the Seed Cache, Lisa leads the Grow Out Crew and coordinates our annual Seed Swap (February 24, 2024) and Seedling Swap (May 18, 2024). Lisa is also a long time garden volunteer and is passionate about seed saving.
