How We Operate

Sustain DuPage is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit and as such is required to have a Board of Directors with a President, Treasurer, and Secretary.

Our Model of Horizontal Leadership: The Leadership Committee

The Leadership Committee is comprised of our Board of Directors, our Project Organizers, and our Facilitative Organizers.

The majority of Sustain DuPage’s decisions are made though the Leadership Committee.

Project Organizers

Project Organizers are official members of Sustain DuPage who have stepped into a volunteer role of responsibility in order to develop an ongoing project for Sustain DuPage. All Project Organizers have received a background check and values training. Anyone with a Sustain DuPage membership can apply to become a Project Organizer by filling out this application form.

Facilitative Organizers

Facilitative Organizers are official members of Sustain DuPage who have stepped into a volunteer role of responsibility in order to help us achieve our organization’s vision. All Facilitative Organizers have received a background check and values training. Anyone with a Sustain DuPage membership can apply to become a Facilitative Organizer by filling out this application form.
